Summer Assignment Corner

We have a One Book One School summer reading assignment this year! Students have the option of listening to me read their book online here, borrow a copy from the main office, purchase their own copy, or attend a live read aloud each Friday in the summer at noon.

Directions were distributed to show how students can earn special time with Mrs. Fry at the start of the new school year.

We will also continue the math IXL challenge which will be distributed with report cards and posted on the Magowan website. There will be an ice cream party incentive for completing the minimum required time.

Please email Mrs. Fry at [email protected]  with any questions.

My name is Amanda Fry and I am the new principal at Magowan. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your family! I can't wait until the start of the new school year, and want to start the process of getting to know each other. More importantly, I want to get your feedback and learn what makes Magowan a great place to learn!

Some Tid Bits About Me

My husband Sean and I have two daughters. Roxy will be in 7th grade this year and Anneliese will be 2 before the end of 2018! Our family LOVES to be outdoors. Walking, running, hiking.... we love to do it all!  I worked as a teacher in the Cherry Hill Public School District for 6 years. Prior to that I began my teaching career working in a Charter school in Camden. My enthusiasm as an educator comes through in all that I do. I truly believe that ALL students can make progress and find success when there is a safe, loving, energetic, and engaging learning environment. I aspire to work with all of our stakeholders to follow in the footsteps of some of my favorite PLN (professional learning network) members Shelley Burgess and Beth Houf to create a school that students, teachers and families are beating down the doors to get in each day instead of out. I am eager to meet and work with every one of you here at Magowan! I can't thank you enough for partnering with us in your child's education. It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve as your child's principal.
